BRIDAL BOX RENEWAL

In preparation for the opening of our Ginza store, we have renewed the MONAKA bridal case. Aiming to create a case that embodies the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship and culture, we have chosen Mino-yaki, a traditional craft from Gifu Prefecture, for the ring case itself. We even visited the factory to observe the production process firsthand.

The exterior of the case is finished with a refined matte texture, and the MONAKA logo is subtly engraved on the lid. Once the ring is placed inside, it is carefully wrapped in "Gin-mashi," a soft-textured Japanese washi paper, to gently protect your precious ring.

For the outer box that houses the case, we commissioned a craftsman in Kyoto who also creates boxes for offerings presented to the Imperial Household. After many detailed adjustments to ensure a perfect fit with the Mino-yaki case, each box has been carefully and meticulously crafted.

Finally, the box is tied with a Sanada-himo cord from "Sumiya," a company with over 450 years of history. Known as one of the narrowest woven fabrics in the world, Sanada-himo has been used for everyday items since ancient times. Passed down through generations, it was even incorporated into the tea ceremony by Sen no Rikyu. They have woven this cord in a special color exclusively for MONAKA.

Not only the ring itself, but everything that wraps it is imbued with Japanese aesthetics and the handiwork of skilled artisans.
