【staff blog】Sparkling cabochon rings that will make your heart skip a beat ✴︎˚✧₊⁎

Hello!

Recently, I, Uesugi, was so happy and touched to hear lovely comments like, "I always read the Osaka store's blog!"

I always write hoping that it will be an enjoyable read for our regular customers, but

I don't often get the chance to hear direct feedback, so those comments made me incredibly happy.

I hope to continue conveying the charm of MONAKA jewellery from my own perspective...♡

Now, what I'd like to introduce this time are some recommended cabochon-cut rings with a captivatingly glossy, lustrous shine.❤︎

Combined with the juicy, fruity colors that look almost ready to drip, they somehow even look delicious🍇

Most of you probably know this, but "cabochon cut" is a technique where a gemstone is polished into a domed, hemispherical shape.

Since it has no facets, the intrinsic color and luster of the stone itself are highlighted.

This time, we will introduce four of our top-pick rings crafted with this cabochon cut!

First up is the "Amethyst" ring, boasting exceptional transparency and presence.

This piece features high transparency and a beautiful, plump luster.

The stone setting is adorned with milgrain detailing, adding a touch of elegance to its charming plumpness.

Look at this luster! The stone is about 5mm high, and its plumpness when viewed from the side is irresistible ♡

When light hits it, the beautiful cabochon cut creates a strong, radiant sheen.

You can enjoy it differently depending on the light and angle!

Next is the "Rhodochrosite" ring, with its beautiful, fresh pink color reminiscent of grapefruit.

Also known as "Inca Rose," it is a rare stone whose name means "rose-colored stone."

What's lovely is the subtle crack inside that glitters beautifully ♡

Its round form exudes femininity.

While it has the charming plumpness unique to cabochon cuts,

the stone's height isn't too pronounced, making it suitable for those who find high settings uncomfortable.

Its simple design makes it perfect for layering.

Here, it's styled with a Hibiki ring featuring orange sapphires, also in warm tones.

The cabochon cut highlights the beautiful color of the stone itself, but because it doesn't look too ornate, it gives an impression that's easy for everyday wear.

Next up is a dumortierite in quartz ring with a rounded square shape.

Dumortierite is embedded in the lower part of the quartz, creating a beauty reminiscent of a snow globe.

The beautiful blue dumortierite has a refreshing color reminiscent of a beautiful lake.

It's a rare natural stone, sometimes called "Blue Garden" because the blue crystals spreading within the quartz resemble flowers.

It's perfect for the coming season as spring gradually approaches!

While retaining the delightful plumpness of a cabochon ring, it doesn't protrude significantly from the stone setting,

making it also recommended for those who are hesitant about wearing rings that stick out a lot.

Finally, the cat's eye aquamarine cabochon ring.

Despite its small size, it has a strong presence, which is certainly due to its high, plump form

and the beautiful cat's eye effect visible... ! ˚✧₊⁎

The side view also has a very cute and unique atmosphere.

When inclusions within milky aquamarine are regularly aligned, applying a cabochon cut creates

a single streak of light, like a cat's eye. This is called aquamarine cat's eye.

This is the only aquamarine cat's eye available at the Osaka store, making it a rare natural stone.

The milky light blue color and the matte finished arm design create a gentle impression!

If you look closely, the stone setting has milgrain detailing, which adds an antique touch.

This time, we introduced our staff's recommended cabochon-cut rings!

Even within cabochon cuts, it's interesting how the overall impression can vary greatly

depending on the stone's form and thickness.

This unique, plump cut creates a charm that cannot be achieved with any other cut.

We hope you'll take this opportunity to enjoy MONAKA jewelry,

paying attention to the differences in cuts among the rings in our store.
