Marriage Ring "kasane" & Engagement Ring "Rinne Oldcut Diamond" Order
A client who previously ordered beautiful bridal rings at our Aoyama store.
As they frequently enjoy wearing MONAKA jewellery, they visited us on this day to pick up a Paraiba tourmaline ring they had ordered previously.
When we spoke, they mentioned they hadn't yet decided whether to get an engagement ring.
Since they had previously mentioned, "Someday I would like to have a Rinne design with a yellow-toned natural diamond," we presented a few loose stones.
"Maybe something this big would be nice when I'm a grandmother!?"
We had a lively time comparing several loose stones in different sizes.
Although the client usually opts for colored diamonds or unique shapes, while trying on various stones, they were drawn to the brilliance of an old-cut diamond—something they had never chosen before—and decided to select one for their engagement ring.
They chose a cushion-cut diamond in a light yellow color that looks close to white.
We combined K18YG for the Rinne stone setting and platinum for the band, adding melee diamonds to create a glamorous piece.
It turned out to be a very special ring, distinct from their usual MONAKA jewellery choices.
Marriage rings chosen by the couple
While trying on several marriage rings, the "kasane" collection—which wasn't initially a candidate—suddenly emerged as the top choice.
They fell in love with its duality: the casual look provided by the texture and the brilliant sparkle of the half-eternity diamonds.
While the client usually prefers yellow gold, they both chose Pt900 for their marriage rings.
The bride chose the "kasane-MD" and the groom chose the "kasane-L," making for a pair that feels individual yet part of the same series.
The process of them deciding, "Since we are doing this, let's match with each other," was very much like them and left a lasting impression on me.
