MONAKA ginza | A Space that Colors Your Encounters with Jewelry
A special project commemorating the opening of MONAKA Ginza.
Designer Takaraga will share her thoughts
on the new stage of Ginza, theme by theme.
This time, the theme is "interior design."
Please enjoy the story of how MONAKA Ginza came to be.
I asked my husband, an architect, to design the interior of the Ginza store.
My husband has a deep connection to the city of Ginza, having previously designed the interior of Itoya, a well-known stationery store in Ginza, as well as beauty salons and luxury foreign brand stores in Ginza.
Also, since we have been partners for many years, I believed that he would be able to share the world view and philosophy that MONAKA values down to the smallest detail, so I asked him to handle the design.

The first thing I conveyed when creating the store was that I wanted it to be a space where visitors could feel the exhilaration of stepping into the entrance of a mine or a cave.
As you delve deeper into a quiet cave, colorful jewels unexpectedly appear, making your heart pound. I want visitors to experience that joy of discovery and excitement.

On the other hand, we aimed for a warm and calm space inside the store where visitors could relax and take their time.
We want it to be a place where you can relax as if you were in your own living room, reflect on yourself, and carefully choose special jewelry that will accompany you throughout your life.
We hope that MONAKA Ginza will be a comfortable place for you to enjoy encountering jewels and finding your own unique piece.
